First, let me tell you ... I'm a hard client. My early years on the internet taught me, quickly and painfully, that trusting the "gurus" and "marketing geniuses" just because they're so-called "masters" is detrimental to my wallet ... and my reputation.

I've learned that I am very important and can and SHOULD be selective ... and demanding when considering who I am going to align myself with and choose to promote.

It is of utmost importance to remember that whatever you do on the net, and whomever you get involved with ... is a direct reflection on you. You won't retain your visitors trust if you're promoting the latest "to die for deal" and taking their money. You should consider your visitors and investigate what you're promoting before you put it on your page.

Here's some guides to consider

Communication - I'm working to make us both money. If the company doesn't value/respect me enough to keep me informed ... they don't deserve me.
Honesty - I'd prefer that a company tell me "We're having problems making payouts" than "You'll be paid, soon".
Integrity - I always do a Google search for the company I'm investigating. I will look under just the company name first ... and then finally, "company name + scam" just to see if there has been any discussion regarding the company being a fraud. If there's just a couple posts from a disgruntled affiliate ... I can overlook that (temporarily and cautiously) and give the company a go if it has enough positives in it's favor. However, if there are several sites and posts reporting negative experiences .... I stay away.

One of the easiest ways to make money is with contextual ads. It requires nothing other than the initial setup .... and it provides quality, relevant links for your visitors. Google Adsense is our favorite and has been monetizing the NHO and paying my rent for 2 years now ;) Highly Recommended.
